Christmas Morning Rolls

Our version of Monkeybread. made most thansgiving and christmas mornings. Many morning this is done by the adult children after a few glasses of wine or two so it has not risen more than once. (was it the rolls or was it the preparation .. . . )

(recipe attributed to Sally Merica Bowman)

1 bag (24 pieces) frozen dinner rolls (Rich’s Home Style Rolls brand?)

1 package (3 ¾ oz) butterscotch pudding mix—not instant

1 stick margarine or butter

¾ cup brown sugar

¾ teas. cinnamon

½ cup chopped nuts if desired

Place frozen rolls in greased tube pan.  Sprinkle dry pudding mix over the rolls.  Cook butter sugar and cinnamon over low heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture bubbles—do not over cook.  Pour over the rolls and dry pudding.  Cover tightly with foil and let stand on the counter overnight.  Next morning, bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.  Let stand 5 minutes, then invert carefully onto a large serving plate.  [Bake on a cookie sheet to catch drips]
