Pete’s Pulled Pork (crock pot)

o   INGREDIENTS

A nice size pork shoulder – known as pork butt! -  (bone in) – make sure it fits in your crock pot

2 L of your favorite Root Beer (I’ve done both A&W and Barq’s – can’t tell a difference…but I usually prefer A&W arbitrarily)

Spice Rub of your choice (I love Pensey’s Arizona Dreamin (cocoa, paprika, and other smoky and yummy balanced flavors)

BBQ Sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s Obvy… flavor of choice)

Apple Cider Vinegar

Worcestshire

Buns, Chips and Coleslaw to serve

o   DIRECTIONS

Trim most of the fat from your pork butt – be careful

Rub the pork butt with your spice rub of choice

Put in crock pot – LOW HEAT!

Cover the pork butt with the Root Beer

Cook for low and slow – 8 hours at least

Drain most of the root beer

With a fork pull a part the pork from the bone – remove bones

Add in enough saucey things to make it yummy – flavor to taste (bbq, vinegar, worcestshire)

Once all warm and integrated – serve on buns with coleslaw and chips and enjoy your life
