Don’t sleep on these. Delicious Slovak break rolls. this is a sweet version but lots of savory versions out there.

5 cups sifted flour

1 lb. margarine

½ cake yeast

3 eggs well beaten

½ pint sour cream

1 teas. vanilla

 

Filling

2-3 cups finely ground nuts

½ to 1 cup sugar

1-2 teas. cinnamon

¾ cup cornflake crumbs

2 egg whites beaten stiff.

 

Mix yeast with flour.  Add remaining ingredients and mix well.  Refrigerate 5 to 6 hours or overnight.  Make the filling:  blend dry ingredients and add egg whites and water as needed to moisten.  Roll out small amount of dough on powdered sugar until thin.  Cut into squares and place filling in the center.  Fold over the corners.  Bake until browned at 350 degrees.
